Comment

Larry Oakley interviewed CEO Charles Diamond on 5/15/2008.

Larry commented:  “In my more than 25 years of interviewing the CEOs of emerging growth companies, I think I can safely say that I’ve never had such an awesome experience.  It’s not only that Charles Diamond is the CEO of a company that has great potential – it’s that his goals are so noble.

I must say that this is a situation that you should seriously check carefully.

I suggest that you look at it from the posture of someone who has two intents:

       1. To realize the type of appreciation potential that you would have enjoyed if you

had invested in Microsoft, for example, when it was just starting as a public

            company.

       2. To be a part of & a backer of a technology that has the probability of doing the

            following things:

                  (1) Cancel the bad effects of global warming.

                  (2) Solve the coming problem of too little food to sustain the world’s

                        growing population.

                  (3) Create an abundant alternative source of very low cost energy.

                  (4) Reduce our dependence on foreign oil.

                  (5) Save countless birds & animals from the ravages of oil spills.

                  (6) Clean up not only Earth’s atmosphere, but a great many aspects

                         of our industrial facilities.

                  (7) Build the profits of those companies that utilize MOP’s technology.”

What MOPN Is & Does

MOPN is a “Green Environmental Company” in the highest sense.

Here’s one comment Charles Diamond made on 4/29/2008:  “We use water power & recycled waste to make the very best product there is to pick up & recover oil spills, thereby conserving fossil fuels & relieving the load on landfills.

Our patented MOP® Maximum Oil Pickup & associated equipment removes up to 99% of the oil from all types of oil spills, on land or water, indoors, outdoors, under all weather conditions, without absorbing water, while recovering spilled oil at a profit.

Everything is restored & recovered leaving clean earth, clean water, clean oil, & the MOP® itself becomes pellet fuel.  Nothing is wasted or left over; except an absolutely clean environment.

But that’s not all.  After removing an oil spill, using thoroughly proven technologies, we propose to:

     1. Restore the land (or any poor quality soil) to the very highest crop yielding

         agricultural use.

         While we:

     2. Remove excess CO2 from the atmosphere in quantities that can REVERSE

        GLOBAL WARMING.

         While we:

     3. Create an abundant alternative source of very low cost energy.

         While we:

     4. Provide companies that wish to utilize this technology with a valuable

         competitive edge.”

History

In 1985, Charles Diamond completed restoration & put into service a vintage 1902 hydroelectric power plant in the town of Bath, NH.  This plant now supplies two million kilowatt hours of renewable energy into the electrical grid, reducing dependence on fossil fuels & reducing the air pollution that would otherwise result.  The annual electricity supplied from this water powered facility provides more electricity than the entire electric consumption of the town of Bath, NH where it is located.  It also now provides all of the power needed to operate the plant that produces MOPN’s products.

In 1990, the only manufacturing plant in New Hampshire that made insulation from waste newspaper was set up by Charles Diamond.  This insulation continues to provide the surrounding community with more than $2,000,000 annually in fuel savings, from the more than 10 million pounds of insulation that was manufactured & is now installed in homes.  This undertaking continues to stimulate the local economy with $2,000,000 annually in more spend-able income while reducing our consumption of earth’s finite fossil fuels & simultaneously reducing air pollution that would otherwise result.

The first plant to manufacture the patented oil recovery product, MOP® Maximum Oil Pickup was perfected with production improvements in 1995.  This improved plant had a multiple shift capacity to manufacture enough material to recover up to 500,000 lbs of spilled oil a day.

MOPN’s Products

MOP® Maximum Oil Pickup products & technology are made from clean industrial by-products that are removed from the waste stream.  Ingredients that are normally destined for landfill are converted into a low cost product that removes oil spills from land & water.  Patented MOP products are manufactured using clean water power to generate the electrical energy for production, thereby conserving fossil fuels.   MOP technology quickly restores oil saturated land & water to its former use.  Land habitat is recovered for wildlife & formerly productive land is recovered for agriculture, & recreation.  Water habitat is restored to allow healthy aquatic life, fishing, & recreation.

Here are some of the main products:

MOPN’s Target Markets

Charles Diamond described the three markets he will target:

     1. Direct to Consumer

     2. Commercial/Industrial

     3. International Oil Spills

Direct to Consumer:  Because the international oil spill market is huge, MOPN will give it initial priority, & give the commercial/industrial & the consumer markets later priority, but here is just one type of direct to consumer application.

Let’s say you want to change the oil in your car yourself, & you get some on your garage floor.  Or maybe the cars of some guests or some delivery vehicles have left oil spots on your driveway.  As you probably have experienced, unless you rent a high pressure washing unit to clean your driveway or garage floor, & you spray smelly harsh chemicals on the oil spills before pressure washing, it’s a difficult job getting those surfaces clean.

With MOP, you can spread a little of the MOP (301) Oil Absorbents - Loose Oil Absorbent Material over the oil spills.  In a few minutes, the MOP has absorbed the oil & all you have to do is sweep it into a dustpan, & if the oil spill is small, you probably just may dump the oil-soaked MOP into your garbage can.  Your garage floor or driveway now is clean of oil.

Let’s assume, on the other hand that you had a worse situation – you accidentally tipped over the table with five quarts of oil you opened & had ready to put into your engine after you collected the old oil under the car.  Again, you just spread a larger amount of the MOP over the spilled oil.  This time, why waste all that oil?  You can collect the oil-soaked MOP & squeeze it to get the oil out of it – you probably will be able to save most of it, and you can then save that MOP to use for any future needs.

Commercial/Industrial:  Here’s just one small example:  An auto repair shop that steam cleans the heavy oil residue from a car’s engine space – normally the water, oil, & sludge are spread around the shop floor & often find their way to a drain.  The shop can use MOP in the form of a pad under the car, or spread the MOP (301) Oil Absorbents - Loose Oil Absorbent Material over the spill.

The water will pass through & the oil will be captured by the MOP.  On a concrete garage floor, after MOP is used to clean up spilled oil (it actually sucks the oil from the pores of the concrete), the floor is so clean that people walking on that floor find that they have better traction than before the oil spill – a good safety measure.

International Oil Spills:  These are much larger applications.  If there is a big oil spill on land (such as a break in a pipeline, or a spill from an oil well gusher), there is the probability of considerable environmental damage.  The cost to clean it up is tremendous.  The way it usually has been done is to use clay spread over the oil – it takes about 10 pounds of clay to pick up one pound of oil, & the huge amount of the combination of oil & clay then is usually delivered to some land fill where it is stored – can you imagine the size of the piles required to store the results of a big oil spill?  Can you picture how long that land fill will not be useful for anything else?

MOPN, using what is called a MOP-CANNON, blows the Loose form of MOP over the spill.  One pound of MOP can absorb 30 pounds of oil – that’s a 300 to one advantage over the use of clay.  One of the main benefits of using MOP is that the oil-absorbed MOP can be picked up & squeezed to recover almost 100% of the oil, which is so clean that it can be used as well as if it were still in the pipeline, or delivered to where ever it originally would have been delivered prior to the spill.

Think about these large land & sea oil spill applications – no more huge piles at land fills, no more lost oil – it’s made like new & can be sent to refineries just as the oil from wells are sent to refineries.  The whole process is more effective, less costly, faster, & far more environmentally acceptable.

If the oil spill is from a ship, it can cause even greater environmental damage, in this case to aquatic life, beaches, etc.  The current usual method of dealing with a spill at sea is to burn it or use oil disbursants, both of which cause environmental damage to the atmosphere as well the sea, & possibly worse in terms of cost, is that none of the oil is recoverable.

To demonstrate how good MOP is, if you apply loose MOP to a bird that was coated by the thick oil of an oil spill, all of the oil that was stuck on the feathers of the bird would be quickly absorbed, literally saving that bird’s life, & at a very modest cost.

MOPN has a number of superior products and solutions.  It uses what it calls a MOP-CAT – it’s a unit mounted on pontoons & is about the size of a compact car.  The words “MOP-CAT” stands for “Maximum Oil Pickup-Cleanup Aquatic Tool.”  The MOP-CAT removes the oil directly from oil spills.  The statistics associated with using MOP for oil spills from ships are rather amazing – here are some of them:

     1. One MOP-CAT can remove 1,000 barrels of oil each day -- with oil prices topping $100 a barrel, that’s $100,000 a day, because that oil is largely recovered.

     2. The recovered oil is so clean, it is pumped into a six-inch standard pipe that can feed an oil pipeline.

     3. The water goes back into the ocean & is as clean as the regular ocean water.

Charles Diamond says:  “There is a dire need for this technology today.  We know of individual sites that can use more than 20 MOP-CATs daily for over a year to clean up latent oil spills.  This translates into $2,000,000 a day in revenues at an estimated operating cost of as little as $20 a barrel or less.  Under these conditions, the ability of a MOP-CAT to deliver pipeline quality oil from oil spills would rival that of highly

productive oil wells.  To capture these high revenues, our initiative to license many sites such as these is underway.

But that is not all… Even more important is what this company will do after it cleans up an oil spill on water or land:

The residual 5% of material that’s left after using the MOP-CAT is processed further with loose MOP which removes virtually all the remaining oil.  The process using a MOP-CAT is fast but not as complete as using loose MOP particulate.  After using the loose MOP particulate the oil removal process is up to 99% effective or more.  The retrieved MOP particulate is then put into the MOP-PET (Petroleum Extraction Tool) that removes all but 5% of the oil from MOP, leaving a cake residue of MOP which is converted into pellets using the MOP-RAM (Residue Attrition Machine) to be used for energy, or by a process of low-temperature pyrolysis into Bio-Char to first remove all the carbon leaving the remaining hydrogen as a low cost source of pollution free energy.  The Bio-Char can be sold to farmers – it makes a dark rich soil that is far more productive than other methods of improving soil quality and here’s where the greatest benefit just begins.

The Bio-Char is a host for the proliferation of microbial growth in the soil that draws large quantities of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere directly into the soil making the soil even richer.  The microbial growth continues going deeper into the soil while it is sequestering more carbon from the air as the Bio-Char microbes in the soil continue to proliferate.  This process increases with time causing the soil to improve while removing even more carbon dioxide greenhouse gasses from the atmosphere.  The metabolic residue from the ongoing life cycle of the microbes creates a dark rich agricultural soil that is the quality of “potting soil.”  This exceptionally productive soil has been demonstrated to produce a 200% to 400% higher agricultural yield than manure or conventional fertilizer, & at a lower cost.  The increased size & yield of plants that grow in this soil draw in still more carbon dioxide from the atmosphere than plants grown in conventional soil.  This further accelerates the removal of even more carbon dioxide greenhouse gasses from the atmosphere while putting more life supporting oxygen back into the air.

This technology is beyond the theoretical or experimental stage.  It is a proven agricultural process with a confirmed 3,000 year agricultural history of success.  It has been recognized & now is thoroughly reconfirmed as the ultimate & timely answer that the world is now seeking & so desperately needs; to significantly cut the cost of energy, to create energy independence from imported oil, to create pollution free fuel from any organic residues or waste.  This means clean pollution-free low-cost fuel from wood chips, bark, leaves, garbage, corn stalks, manure, or any organic waste material estimated at far less that half the cost of oil.  It reverses global warming from the greenhouse effect by drawing excess carbon from the atmosphere.  It creates an abundance of food, stimulates the economy, increases the quality of life, & reduces the cost of living.  It gives those that use this technology a competitive edge in the world, & it preserves natural resources.  Driving any vehicle or engine using fuel from this process will be encouraged & patriotic because the more you use the sooner the global warming will be corrected while lowering the costs of food & boosting the economy.  If the U.S. becomes a leader in this technology, it will win back its prestige in the world as the country that is leading the world community in solving those serious growing threats to humanity.

Recent News

4/8/2008 -- MOPN announced that MOP® patented breakthrough technology & associated equipment, creates profit incentive for effective global oil-spill recovery.

With the prototype MOP-CAT now demonstrated, construction of full size MOP-CATs await funding.  The MOP-CAT’s first public demonstration is anticipated to show its ability to recover above 1,000 barrels a day of pipeline quality oil from oil spills.  With oil prices toping $100 a barrel, that’s $100,000 a day. At $100,000 in daily revenues each MOP-CAT could pay for itself in as little as one day.

3/27/2008 Peter Kimball, editor of The Bridge Weekly newspaper in North Haverhill, NH, did a great report on Mop Environmental Solutions, Inc.  It gives some history & background on Charles Diamond.  We have Peter Kinball’s permission to re-publish his report here, where it will be read by serious investors in 94 countries.  His report is titled:  “It is a matter of time for Charlie Diamond.”  Here it is:

"A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in."  Greek Proverb

Inspired by his electrical engineering professor at Northeastern University back in the late 1960's-early 1970's who said cheap oil will become expensive & brown-outs & blackouts would occur, Charlie Diamond says a theme of solving environmental problems was the paramount philosophy of his business life from the start.  Diamond recovered from a disastrous fire not long after he purchased a property that included a closed down hydroelectric plant, a stone's throw downstream from the historic Bath Covered Bridge.  Today, Diamond is President of MOP Environmental Solutions, Inc, a Bath company which is beginning to market the revolutionary patented product MOP (Maximum Oil Pickup) which can clean up hazardous oil & other hydrocarbon material spills easily & safely while allowing for the recovery of the spilled material & returning a clean environment.

Diamond's Northeastern Professor Fitzgerald said, "It is only a matter of time" & Diamond wasted none, as in April of 1973, he traveled from Massachusetts to Concord, NH for a visit to the NH Department of Resources & Economic Development to try to find a list of shut-down hydropower dams in the state.  He was given a folder.  The details of one such dam caught his eye & he says, "The very next day I shot up here to Bath."  At a time when many hydropower dams were being shut down, Diamond was bucking the trend to buy one.

"I looked out of a window in the Bath Covered Bridge. It was very dramatic," he says.  "The place was for sale, but I had no money," he adds.  The owner of the property was the late Paul Glover (92 years old), the owner of the Bath Fibre Company, which had closed.

Paul Glover must have liked what he saw in the aspiring businessman, because as Diamond puts it,  "Paul Glover made it possible for me to be here."  Diamond says the late Roland Currier;  a loan officer for the Woodsville Bank was also a key in his purchase of the property.

With help from Glover, Currier, & others, & Diamond's ingenuity & hard work, Granite State Metal & Woodworking Company built up very quickly in metalworking & as a manufacturer of hockey sticks, wooden display stands, & other items.  "We had some talented people working for us," Diamond says.  True to his environmentally conscious philosophy, it was hydropower that ran the company's machines.

But on the night of December 17, 1975, a fire caused by an electrical short leveled everything he owned.  "I had absolutely nothing left," says Diamond.  "I had just shipped an order & I had to wait for the funds to come in on that order.  If I didn't have that, I wouldn't have had a cent."  He rented a little machine shop next door & worked to bring back his business.

As with Paul Glover & Roland Currier previously, those he did business with must have liked what they saw.  "Every one of my suppliers agreed to supply me," he says.  "I told them I would pay them when I could & by the end of the next year I had paid off all the accounts & had $1,000 left over," he remembers.  "I then drove to every supplier & divvied up the money as a way to thank them.  I was in tears, but I felt awesome," Diamond says.

From there he says the company built up slowly.  "We went back into the mill & built & built," he says.  The hydro dam went back online.  The business manufactured using falling water for power.  Today Diamond says, "The energy produced at this location produces more energy than the whole town of Bath uses.  We produce clean low cost energy that offsets many thousands of barrels of oil.  These are renewable resources that preserve our non-renewable resources."

And now still inspired, if not more, by Professor Fitzgerald's words coming to fruition, Diamond & his company, MOP Environmental Solutions, Inc are working hard to begin marketing the product, which he & his employees have been working on for the past 10-plus years -- the product & system which allows for recovery of an oil spill & returning a clean environment.

The product, MOP (Maximum Oil Pickup) is a unique cellulose-based oil absorbent product, which can be used on land or water to recover the hazardous spill.   Diamond says, "Our technology is a breakthrough that allows our company to apply what was a barrier to oil recovery on a global scale."  MOP changes what has been an exorbitant cost to a significant profit, when done on a large scale.  Now, there is not only an environmental incentive, but also an economic one too for oil spill cleanup.

"Now we can pickup oil fast & efficiently & our process is competitive with drilling for oil."  This product can recover thousands of barrels of oil a day from oil-laden waterways or land.

MOP technology allows oil-saturated land or water to be restored to its original condition, removing 99% of the oil.  Diamond says his company has improved the process over the last 10 or so years now.  The product locks the oil in itself so that the oil doesn't continue to contaminate the environment.

Other features of the MOP system include equipment which will be used in recovery efforts:  The MOP CANNON- which blasts MOP at 150 mph above or below an oil spill even in severe weather or turbulent waters;  MOP CAT- Cleanup Aquatic Tool;  MOP PET- Petroleum Extractor Tool;  & MOP RAM-Residue Attrition Tool, which produces pellets from the recovered MOP for pellet fuel.

Diamond says, "The bottom line is that everything used is separated & everything is recovered.  When we finish, we have clean earth, water & oil.  The oil is extracted from the MOP & that which remains is made into pellet fuel.  Nothing goes to a landfill like with any other product.  Our company does focus on solving environmental problems with renewable resources starting with the waterpower.  We have created a recycling path.

One area of the world MOP Environmental Solutions will focus their attention on is acknowledged to be the largest oil spill to exist on the planet.  This spill is in the Caspian Sea Region, where they have identified oil-laden land & waterways, which are in the thousands of acres," says Diamond.

"This is a perfect site for the application of MOP CAT, our aquatic tool, which can recover up to 1000 or more barrels of pipeline quality oil per day.  This is quality oil with a minimum of treatment," says Diamond.  "With oil in excess of $100 per barrel & a cost of $0.25 per gallon to recover, we are looking at netting revenues in the range of $50,000 to $100,000 dollars per day.  One of the lagoons will support as many as 20 MOP CAT machines operating simultaneously for a period of one full year with a recovery of 1-2 million dollars per day.”  Diamond says the cost of one MOP CAT is about $100,000.

The company has been publicly traded since December 2007.  "We anticipate that by going public, we can obtain the capital we need to distribute our products in the US & internationally," Diamond says.  A plan to implement the project is underway & waiting for funding.  Diamond says the company tries to draw expertise through the network of its shareholders.

MOP Environmental Solutions, Inc. currently has a West Coast distributor & an East Coast distributor, which is a NAPA Dealer in Littleton, NH.  Charlie Diamond says, "I am encouraged.  When this takes off it will be great for the area, as the project should employ 100-200 people."

A couple of businesses in the area are examples of MOP cleanup.  A company was discharging vegetable oil into the drain, & was under pressure by the Environmental Protection Agency -- it used MOP in a basket, which was able to capture the oil.  Another was a restaurant in St. Johnsbury, VT where an oil barrel flipped over in the basement & discharged oil into the flooded basement.  The MOP captured the oil, was removed, & the restaurant was back in business soon.

Diamond says historically there have been exorbitant costs associated with oil spill recovery.  MOP is economically efficient & often that threatens those in the business who are not interested in being economical & efficient, he says.  "It takes five pounds of MOP to tie up 150 pounds of oil & takes 1,500 pounds of a clay-based material to do the same. The clay ends up in a landfill & our product is recycled.  There is only one product that does it all & MOP is it," he says.

Diamond says the company is currently looking for a celebrity affiliation or endorsement.  "We would like to find a spokesperson to help expose the benefits of MOP. We want to be known as the do-good company.  We plan to channel funds to support do-good projects.  There are plenty of problems out there in which to support," he says.

Like the Greek Proverb says, Charlie Diamond may never sit in the shade of the many trees he has figuratively planted at his Bath businesses, but that does not seem to stop him from planting more.  Professor Fitzgerald would likely be proud of the solutions for environmental problems persevered by one of his students, whom he inspired many years ago.

Our Opinion

We feel that this situation will be a real winner.  The long-term benefits to the U.S. are outstanding.  Frankly, this is the kind of company that has the patented technology to practically save this planet for our children’s children, & their children’s children.  Add to that the probable fact that it is a situation that has the capability to make you a possible fantastic profit.  At the present price, this appears to us to be a rather good time to take a modest position.  In our opinion, this stock is extremely undervalued when one considers the long-term appreciation potential it has.

We’ve frankly seldom have seen such an unusually good situation.  Keep in mind that there is always risk, especially with start-up companies that have great appreciation potential, but the story here is so outstanding that we suspect that MOPN should not have too much trouble raising the financing it needs to make its planned expansion a reality.  In fact, it has already has had substantial progress in identifying specific markets, & in doing tests that have demonstrated the effectiveness of MOP.

We suggest that you check www.mopenvironmental.com – you can see videos there showing how MOP works.
